This work aims to focus on the theme of metaphorical creation in Coseriu, conceived as an example of the essential trait of the apprehension of being and intuitive knowledge, which characterizes his philosophical theory of language. Starting from the description of the eminently creative and intuitive nature of the being of language, that characterized Coserian philosophy of language, we will attempt to propose an interpretation of his theory of metaphor as a historical and concrete example of what he considered as an ontological trait of the essence of language. Therefore, starting from Coserian thesis, we will propose to consider metaphor as a paradigmatic case of creativity and intuition historically rooted in the linguistic speech. According to this, we will describe the metaphorical aspects of linguistic speech as a usual way in which the poetic dýnamis – rooted within a historical field of intersubjective linguistic sedimentation – is shaped to allows speakers to transcend the boundaries of a given ergon in order to create new possibilities to speaks about reality. In this sense, starting by the Coserian theory of language and metaphor, we will try to describe the metaphorical creativity as a fundamental linguistic device (in contrast with CMT and MSM): on one hand, because it manifests itself as a concrete source for linguistic innovations that opens new horizons of meaning and expressive freedom. On the other, because metaphorical creativity seems to provide a modality for grasping and understanding the dynamic aspects of reality that is not bodily restricted, but it is historically and linguistically guaranteed.
